Hi there, I'm Abbey.
Owner/Operator and resident of Studio Rata
I grew up here in Otatara and began hairdressing in Invercargill many moons ago. Once qualified I flew the nest to Perth for 11 years. It is here that I learnt all the tricks for dimensional colour and perfecting the beauty of colours well as gaining knowledge for all hair-types with a passion for cutting.
Returning back to Southland was always a must for me and now being able to create a dream studio in an environment that I can call my home is a real treat.
The land of Studio Rata has been in my family for almost 60 years and its a honour to continue working on the land like my Grandparents did.
In a nutshell, At Studio Rata we strive to put all our knowledge and experience into every client empowering them to feel the best they can.
For all the Greenies - We are very aware of the impact hair-salons have on the environment and choose to promote brands that help minimise our foot print and have sustainable practices.

Im a local southland girl who grew up in Te Anau. I have been working in the hairdressing industry for 17+ years here in Invercargill. I love bringing out the natural beauty in my clients hair and hate talking about myself. Im a working mum of 3 beautiful babies. You can catch me in the salon during the school hours.
